Note: I couldn’t find the blog discussion that inspired this until today(1/19). Good read.
By this, all men will know you are my disciples. If you love one another. -John 13:35
Not by competing, not by arguing or accusing, not by tearing each other down or sabotaging, not by campaigning for position or creating your own following. But by focusing on giving the best to someone else, giving up your idea if someone else’s is better or more timely, become blind to differences that don’t matter, coming together to share the love that Jesus shows i.e. He loved us first before anyone came along and said, “Hey yeah, that’s a good plan, I’m in”.

Good thoughts! I’m afraid we’ve allowed too much pride to come into our hearts as believers, and instead of sharing the very love we live in because of Him, we end up sharing a very hypocritical view of Jesus and His way. Our way to the Father is not through our own self righteous deeds, but through Jesus. His pattern of living was and still is, love.

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!! Love never fails, Love covers a multitude of sins, Love conquers all and love is the greatest of all. Love, God is Love. May our first response always be love. Thank you and blessings to you.

I love the emphasis on God loving us first. When we try to view God through our love first it will always fall short. Why? Because the focus is on how much we love God, not how much He loves us. Like all goal-oriented, self-indulging, motivated kids in our Father’s kingdom, I need reminders daily to do die to my own drive, my own goals and simply allow God’s love to live through me. Thanks for the reminder! I’m going to link this post.
