Babbling Mom on Summer Break: Day One

Its pouring rain today. Someone please kill me.
I picked the wrong week to give up sugar–publicly.
Can arguing with your siblings be considered an activity?
What about screaming at the dog, “drop it! DROP IT! MOM! CHAMP’S GOT MY (fill in the blank)!”
Or…”Moooooooom! Maddie did-” “No I didn’t! Well Annaliese did-” “Waaaaaaaaaaaah” “Moooooomeeeeeee! JD-” “pshoo pshoo pshoo” “JD, stop shooting your sisters!”
JD made his own “shooter” today out of legos and has irritated us all. However, its a pretty cool shooter complete with lego people attached to operate it. It has an airbag, a place to hold bullets and it shoots fire too. To alleviate his sisters’ pain, he did not stop shooting his shooter at them, but made shooters for each of them so they can all participate. Now that’s love.

  1. You crack me up! Giving up sugar would KILL me!!! lol I started blogging about me weight loss and now I am really trying to push physical activity in the mix. Its hard! My thighs hurt!!! I keep hearing it will get better. What a horrible comment! I need it better now. Right no. Or maybe some of that icy hot cream stuff would do? And yet I will get back on that stupid bike today and wage war against my thighs again. Ugggg

I hope you are doing ok with your sugar today. I saw something that said we should put our scale right in front of the fridge as a weight loss reminder.

  2. What you need to do is find a willing relative(s) and ship them off for a week of visiting said relatives.

My girls are gone to grandparents’ for the week and it’s so quiet here with just the baby. I’ve even exercised for 3 days straight 🙂

I feel your pain! We have been having major rain and high winds (tornadoes) here in Nebraska too. The kids are driving me crazy…and we just found out my oldest (6 yrs old) has chicken pox (he was vaccinated). He is Mr. Cranky Pants. How about I drop the kids at my brother’s there in Naperville, you can drop yours off and we can go get some wine?! Mommy BREAK!!

  4. Sounds like the two of you have already had some “whine”.

Speaking of “whine”, who counts down the days to Christmas Break from the 1st day of school?

OK Doug – you just volunteered yourself for kid-duty. I’ll drop mine off and Joni and I will escape. THEN we will see who starts whining!!
